WAXING AND SUGARING

Modern cosmetology offers various procedures for getting rid of hair all over the body, and waxing (i.e. hair removal with wax) does not lose its popularity.

In fact, waxing is a type of bio-depilation. The main tool in this procedure is wax, which is carefully applied to the skin and then removed along with unwanted hair. The Now Beauty Lab uses Italian wax made from natural ingredients for waxing.

The principle of waxing

Many people call waxing epilation. However, this is completely wrong and is just a marketing ploy.

During depilation, the hair shaft located above the skin surface is removed.

During epilation, not only the shaft is removed, but also the bulb. The follicle is destroyed, which is how you can achieve almost permanent hair removal.

As noted above, wax depilation is performed using wax. Warm or hot wax is applied to a specific area, opens the pores and securely fixes the hairs, so the effectiveness of the procedure is very high. If the bikini or armpit area is selected, then a hot mixture is applied (but not scalding), and a warm one is applied to the arms or legs.

It is necessary to be selective in choosing a specialist for this procedure in order to avoid the likelihood of burns and bruises and get a high-quality result.

Advantages of wax depilation at The Now Beauty Lab

• long-lasting effect (the result after wax depilation lasts up to 2-3 weeks).

  • Application of the wax mixture to the selected area. A fabric strip is placed on the wax. The fabric strip with wax is removed with a quick movement of the hand.

  • Final processing, removal of wax residues if necessary. Skin moisturizing.

What is sugaring?

Sugaring is a hair removal procedure on any part of the body. Specialists use sugar caramel for depilation, which they cover the skin in the problem area with.

The sticky layer tightly envelops the hair, and the liquid substance penetrates the hair follicle, to the root of the hairs, which remain on the layer of paste when removed.

It is generally accepted that sugaring came to us from the East (Persia), therefore sugar depilation is also called Persian. In Tunisia, the procedure is considered part of a wedding ritual: girls remove hair from their entire body using sugar syrup.

The Now Beauty Lab beauty salon offers ladies the safest way to remove hair from any problem area.

Types of sugaring

We perform the procedure in different ways:

Manual. After forming the sugar paste, the specialist applies it to the skin, then tears it off the body surface using his hands. It can be used on any area. When working with legs and arms, the specialist applies the product in a strip, then removes the hair with several jerks, cleaning the areas in small parts.

Spatula method. Caramel paste is applied to the skin area, then torn off using a special spatula. This technique makes the process easier when working with small areas.

10 secrets from our sugaring specialist

 • It is better to warm the paste to body temperature. This way, the client will not feel uncomfortable while applying the paste, and it will help prevent the specialist’s fingers from getting tired.

• The paste must be carefully distributed over the skin. The better it sticks, the less unwanted hair will remain on the skin. If applied correctly, you will not have to re-treat the same area of the body.

• When applying, the specialist does not place his hand parallel to the skin, but at an angle of 90 degrees. This way, you can tear the paste off the body without changing the position of your fingers.

• Specialists do not pause between applying the paste to the skin and removing it. After distributing the material over the body areas, it is immediately torn off. This not only increases the speed of work, but also eliminates "sticking".

• Before removing the paste, the skin is stretched with the free hand, strongly pulling it to the side opposite to the direction of removal - against hair growth. This way, the client will not feel any discomfort, and there will be no bruises on the skin. It is unacceptable to tear the paste off of loose skin. When treating the area around the knees and elbows, the paste is torn off only from bent legs and arms.

• The paste is removed with a sharp movement parallel to the skin, not upwards. The sharper the movements of the specialist, the more effectively the hairs will be removed, and the client will not experience strong painful sensations.

• The specialist positions himself relative to the client in such a way as to tear the paste off the skin in the direction away from him. Such a jerk will be strong and sharp.

• The specialist should not knead the paste in his hands, forming a "ball" out of it. After tearing off the sugar strip from one area, it is important to apply the paste immediately to the adjacent area.

• It is advisable to start the procedure from an area where there is no hair, in order to gradually capture areas with hair. In the end, it will be possible to bring out a “path” to a hairless area. This method reduces the risk of “sticking” and increases the effectiveness of the procedure.

• It is permissible to work with large areas on straight parts of skin with low sensitivity. This applies to arms and legs. In this case, the procedure will be much faster. When working with sensitive areas or hard-to-reach places, the working areas should be small.

When visiting a new beauty salon, it is advisable to pay attention to how the master works. If his actions seem suspicious and unprofessional, it is better to stop the procedure and look for a specialist who will perform depilation correctly.
